Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “OLYMPIC”. The left side of the slide is marked “HI – STANDARD” with lightning bolts to each side. The right side of the barrel is marked “HIGH STANDARD MFG. CORP. / HAMDEN, CONN. U.S.A. / .22 SHORT”. The right side of the slide is marked “0-101” and “625476”. The top of the frame, under the slide, is marked “625476”.
Barrel Length: 6 3/4″ with factory integral muzzle brake and 4 1/2″ barrels are included.
Sights / Optics: The front sights are patridge style blades with integral serrated ramp bases in-line dovetailed and screw secured to the barrels, the rear sight is a flat-topped square notch which is adjustable for windage and elevation dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered brown plastic panels with thumb-shelf on the left panel for a right-handed shooters and High Standard eagle logos molded into the bottom-rear of each panel. The grips have minor handling wear with a few scattered light scuffs and handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bores are bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in either bore.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 87% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at most edges. The 4 1/2″ barrel shows little sign of use with generally strong finish apart from a patch of minor surface oxidation on the bottom-right in front of the flat. The 6 3/4″ barrel has finish wear and minor surface oxidation at the front on each side and some scattered light nicks and scratches. The slide retains strong finish with some scattered light marks. The frame has handling wear in the grip straps and trigger guard and a few other minor marks. The screw heads are lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a two-piece maroon and yellow cardboard Hi-Standard box with the serial and model numbers hand-written on the end of the lid, the additional 4 1/2″ barrel as described, the installed barrel weights and a single 10-round magazine. The box has fraying and tears at edges and corners with each corner of the lid tape-repaired and scattered storage wear, in about Good condition. The magazine has minor operational wear, intact feed lips and a strong spring, in about Fine condition.
Our Assessment: High Standard had a long history of manufacturing target pistols going back to before WWII, so they had lots of time to perfect the design. Their line of pistols changed significantly throughout their history and they even moved their factory from Hamden to Hartford in 1977. The 101 series was a transitional series which incorporated their push-button barrel release instead of the earlier lever-latch but retained the barrels being dovetailed to the frame instead of indexing on a post. The Olympic was High Standard’s .22 Short target pistol and the 101 series introduced an alloy slide for the low-powered .22 Short cartridge. Aimed at Olympic rapid-fire competitors, the pistol was offered with a 6 3/4″ barrel with integral muzzle brake, but could also be had with a 4 1/2″ barrel or a combination of both. The model number on the end of the included factory box, “9123”, is for the two-barrel set, indicating that this set is all original, shipped with both barrels. Also included is a set of barrel weights, currently installed on the 6 3/4″ barrel, allowing the user to alter the weight and balance of the pistol. This Olympic 101 is less common than many other High Standards, making it a great piece to add to a collection. It should also still serve well as a target pistol as originall designed.
