Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “HENRY REPEATING ARMS – RICE LAKE, WI – MADE IN USA.” The right side of the barrel is marked “CAL. 45-70 GOV’T” and the upper tang is marked “MODEL H010AW / WFFS07745AW”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a “U”-notch buckhorn blade mounted to a leaf dovetailed into the rear of the barrel with a step-ramped elevator. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for the mounting of an optic and retains its cap screws for the mount holes.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is black satin stained wood with a flat comb and pistol grip. The wood is smooth. There is no notable wear or damage and it looks like this rifle has spent its life in the box. The LOP measures 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. The buttpad has the HENRY logo and has little to no wear with a small spot of residue which should clean up, in about Excellent condition. The stock is in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish with only very light handling marks and rubs from the box. There is barely any operational wear to the lever and the tube follower is only lightly scratched. We would assume that this rifle has not been fired more than a few times outside of the factory. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. This rifle is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The serial number matched box is included in Good condition.
Our Assessment: Directly from Henry:
We do produce, hands down, some of the best-looking lever action rifles on the market in our brass and silver models, but as a part of our aggressive expansion into the more utilitarian side of life with newer steel centerfires meant for everyday life in the truck, on the farm, and through the woods, in 2016 we introduce the hard-working All-Weather H009AW in .30-30 and the H010AW in .45-70.
In profile and general dimensions, these two Henry offerings are essentially the same as their blued steel counterparts, with 20” round barrel and 5-shot magazine capacity in the .30-30 and 18.43” round barrel with 4-shot magazine in the .45-70, and both with the same adjustable buckhorn/bead sights. Like the blued rifles, the All-Weathers also wear the same wrist profiles- straight in the .30-30, and pistolgrip in the .45-70. The major differences lie in the first time we’ve used hard chrome plating on all metal surfaces (except springs and sights), and a durable industrial-grade coating on hardwood furniture.
In a tough world where a working rifle might be “rode hard and put away wet”, this is the finish you want on it. A very strong plating permanently bonded to the steel underneath, hard chrome doesn’t flake, chip, or peel, and its corrosion resistance is actually stronger than some stainless steels. The treatment we use increases surface hardness, reduces friction on moving parts, doesn’t normally scuff or scratch, and leaves a low-gloss look that won’t spook game.
The furniture is another departure for us; we’ve based a good part of our reputation on our select American walnut over the years, but here we’ve opted for a stained hardwood with a carefully-selected coating that’s formulated to stand up to wear, tear, scratches, moisture, temperature variations, and the angst of the various “character marks” an everyday outdoor tool inevitably picks up during its lifetime. If you want beauty, we’ve got it.
