Our Assessment: Made in 1979, this H&R Model 176 is a “magnum” hunting shotgun, especially for those who combine their fowl hunting with their first-shot accuracy. A long 36” barrel, a fixed full choke and heavy barrel to handle magnum rounds, there is plenty of power to down birds in flight. Even though this single shot does a LOT to help down birds in flight, it does not easily forgive misses. If a single shot hunting shotgun would hone and show off your skill, this may be the gun for you! Good luck in your bidding!
