Our Assessment: The Great Western Arms Company was founded in the early 1950s with the goal of reviving the classic Colt Single Action Army pattern revolver during a time when the market for traditional six-shooters was booming thanks to television westerns. Great Western produced revolvers that were faithful to the original design but incorporated improvements in metallurgy and production methods.
This example, chambered in the desirable .45 Colt and featuring a 4.5″ barrel, is a classic configuration that blends excellent shootability with authentic Old West styling. The revolver shows beautiful case coloring and a solid blued finish, both of which have been well-preserved. The simulated stag grips complete the look, giving this piece an undeniable period charm.
Whether you are a collector of early postwar American revolvers, a cowboy action shooter, or simply an admirer of the classic sixgun, this Great Western Arms Co. revolver would be a fine addition to your collection. Please see our high quality photos and good luck on your bid! -M.C.
