Our Assessment: Great Western Arms was one of the earliest American companies to revive the classic single-action revolver design after Colt ceased production of the Single Action Army following World War II. Designed to meet the demands of the growing Western film industry and the civilian market, Great Western revolvers filled an important niche during the 1950s and earned respect for their robust build and faithful adherence to the Colt SAA style.
This example, chambered in the ever-popular .45 Colt offers a manageable caliber in a classic package. With its 4.75” barrel, blued finish, and wood grips, it embodies the styling that made the American West iconic. The revolver remains in Excellent condition and would make a fantastic addition to any collection focusing on post-war Americana or early Western film history.
Whether you’re a shooter looking for a vintage six-gun or a collector seeking a handsome, functional piece of firearms history, this Great Western Arms revolver deserves serious consideration. Please see our high quality photos and good luck on your bid! -M.C.
