Our Assessment: The Custom German Mauser is built on a Gewehr 98 receiver. It is chambered in 9.3×62 Mauser which is a readily available (on-line), hard hitting hunting cartridge used for large game animals. It was customized by the German H. Barella Company. Looks great for its age and has a strong bore. The rifle is currently set up for a left handed shooter. Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm Barella founded his first gunshop way back in 1844. The business continued after his death. It was run by family members until the business ceased in 1931.
