Our Assessment: Anschütz has long been synonymous with precision rimfire performance, and the Model 1712 Silhouette stands among the most respected rifles the company produces. Built in Ulm, Germany, the 1712 combines Anschütz’s legendary match-grade craftsmanship with a sporter-weight configuration designed for offhand stability, hunting accuracy, and metallic silhouette competition. This 2020 example exemplifies the high manufacturing standards that have made the 1712 a benchmark rifle in its clas;: a flawlessly machined action, a crisp and impeccably tuned 2-stage trigger, and a cold-hammer-forged barrel capable of exceptional precision with quality .22 LR ammunition.

The classic .22 LR chambering gives the rifle broad utility, from formal competition to small-game hunting, and the 22″ barrel length provides an ideal balance of velocity and harmonic consistency. The bore on this rifle is mirror bright with sharply defined rifling, rating 10/10 and confirming minimal use. The walnut stock, with its skip-line checkering, Monte Carlo roll-over cheekpiece, and schnabel forend, provides excellent ergonomics for both supported and offhand shooting, and remains in Excellent condition with only a handful of tiny handling marks.

What elevates this package further is the inclusion of a Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10×40 scope mounted in 30mm rings on a picatinny rail, a premium tactical-grade optic well known for robust construction and excellent clarity. The illuminated LR/T reticle will require a fresh battery to confirm function, but the glass remains clear and bright. Mechanically, the rifle is exceptionally fresh, showing about 99% original finish with only slight storage evidence.

With its outstanding bore, high-grade Anschütz action, premium walnut stock, and top-tier Leupold optic, this Model 1712 Silhouette is a complete, competition-ready, precision-oriented rimfire rifle. It is an Excellent example of modern Anschütz quality and an ideal choice for the shooter who demands world-class accuracy in a refined sporting platform.
