Our Assessment: This Custom Commercial Model 1888 was made in Germany by Miller & Val. Greiss sometime between 1888 and 1890. Miller & Val. Greiss began working together around 1870 and ceased doing business upon the death of Valentin Greiss in 1890. This is an impressive Mauser that was custom made with dual set triggers, grip mounted aperture sight, octagonal barrel with full length metal serrations along the top, and decorative metal work on the bolt assembly & receiver. This rare Custom Model 1888 will be a nice addition to your collection. This is an antique so no FFL is required…unless you live in California.
