Our Assessment: The MAC Modele 1950 replaced the MAC Modelo 1935 as the French military sidearm. Comparatively few of these pistols are available and collectors watch for them. Notable here is the rather low serial number. Production of the Modele 1950 began in 1953 and batches of 9999 were given letter designations. This pistol, with its “A” designation would have been one of the 1st 1,000 made. This one is in Good-to-Very Good condition, retaining about 50% of its original finish.
