Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “FREEDOM ARMS MODEL 83 .475 LINEBAUGH / FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A.”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. NO. 4126953”. The bottom of the frame is marked “KF 0289”. The rear face of the cylinder is marked “KF 0 2 8 9”. The left side of the grip frame is lightly hand inscribed “X49635-127”. The right side of the frame is marked “FREEDOM ARMS / FIELD GRADE”.
Barrel Length: 6″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade set on a smooth ramped base fixed to the barrel. The front sight has been painted blaze orange. The front sight is secured with an allen head at the front of the base. The rear sight is a flat-topped square notch sight that is adjustable for windage and elevation and is in a base that is screwed to the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are replacement two-piece panels made of faux-smooth wood. The grips are proud in some areas and shy in other areas, most noticeable on the butt of the grip frame and backstrap. The panels have warped away from the frame slightly. There are a few scattered little marks but no heavy scratches. There are some scattered light handling marks. The grip rates in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are numerous scattered scuffs and rubs that have caused smooth spots, the most noticeable are on the cylinder and on the barrel. There are some scattered light handling marks. There is thinning on the blued sights. There is a turn line on the cylinder. There are a few little nicks into the metal on the edge of the muzzle, mostly on the left. There are some nicks and scratches into the metal on the bottom of the barrel at the ejector tab. There are some scattered little draglines on the metal from abrasive cleaning. The screw heads are sharp to lightly worn. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup is solid. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Freedom Arms makes what are probably the highest quality single-action revolvers in the world, and this single action Model 83 Field Grade revolver is no exception. The action and trigger pull are exceptional. The lockup is solid and the build quality is unparalleled. The stainless finish with the unfluted cylinder is very appealing to the eye as well as functional in being nearly impervious to the elements. This example has a 6? barrel, adjustable sights and is chambered for the powerful .475 Linebaugh cartridge.
