Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The action locks up with no play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: This is an interesting double gun from 1924, made in Germany for the company of Fred Adolph. Similar to Charles Daly, the great majority of Fred Adolph guns were foreign-made and applied with his brand on import, though various things such as engraving, stock carving, etc. may have been performed here in the States. Adolph, however, was a guild-trained German gunmaker and was quite capable of producing custom guns on his own. He was quite well known in America around the time this gun was produced, having made rifles for Townsend Whelen, Teddy Roosevelt, and Henry Ford.

This German boxlock double gun has 26″ barrels chambered for 16 gauge shells, making for a trim, fast-handling gun. It is in quite good condition for its age and is a fascinating piece. Please see our pictures and good luck!

Please forgive any typos, I was educated in California. -Bud
