Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN BELGIUM”. The barrel is marked with two Belgian proof marks, an inspection mark, and “CAL. 9m/mP.”. The right trigger guard bow is marked with a Belgian proof mark and an inspection mark, the left trigger guard bow is marked “A”. The bottom flat of the firing pin housing, under the slide, is marked with a Belgian proof mark, an inspection mark, and small factory markings. There are factory markings on the right side of the barrel lug. The right side of the frame is marked “T173492”.

Barrel Length: 4 5/8”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a rounded blade fixed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a U-notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered wood panels with smooth borders. The grips show a couple minor nicks on the smooth borders and faint handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine-Plus condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore but there is some stubborn fouling in the grooves.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 89% of its metal finish. There are scattered freckles of surface oxidation throughout the metal. There are some streaks of loss on the slide from abrasive cleaning. There are scattered faint scratches, most notably on the back strap. The slide serrations are sharp. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are clean. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good-Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The magazine disconnect is present. The trigger is crisp. There is a tiny amount of play between the slide and frame. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a magazine that has been hand marked “HP 10 Rd”. However, upon testing for capacity, 11 rounds fit comfortably in the magazine, making it a high capacity magazine. Please note that no magazine will be included where prohibited by law.

Our Assessment: Browning Hi-Power pistols are known to be quality tried and trusted pistols. They have been the chosen sidearm by armies and police forces across the world throughout the millennia. Manufactured in 1967, this example is in about Very Good-Fine condition and still has solid mechanics and a bright bore with only some light fouling.
