Our Assessment: The Browning High Power Safari rifle was Manufactured from the late 1960s to 1975. Its action was based on the FN commercial Mauser action and available in a variety of calibers, including the .458 Winchester Magnum.  The Safari rifles were known for their quality craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal, with beautiful wood stocks and finely blued metal.  Although the line was eventually replaced by cheaper models, the Hi-Power bolt-action rifle was popular with hunters and remains a sought-after collector’s item.

Though the Safari was the base model of the High-Power Rifles, this is a quality firearm.  But the mechanics are in good shape and it is chambered in the .22-250 Remington cartridge which is a flat shooting cartridge perfect for small game.  This very traditional rifle has likely put meat in the freezer many times, and will do so again for the lucky winner of the auction.  Please see our photos for a better understanding of condition and good luck with your bids.
