Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “CAL. .338 LAPUA MAG. MADE IN FINLAND”. The left side of the receiver is marked “SAKO M995 867022”, along with a proof mark.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The receiver is grooved for optics, NOT drilled and tapped.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece black synthetic stock, with a semi-pistol grip, fluted raised comb, black rubber buttpad, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 3/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows only minor handling wear. The stock fits the barreled action tightly, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its original serial number matching box, sling rings, and the magazine as mentioned above.
Our Assessment: The Sako M995 TRG-S stands among the finest magnum-class sporting rifles ever built, pairing the legendary strength of Sako’s long action with the extraordinary ballistics of the .338 Lapua Magnum. Developed in Finland alongside the TRG-41/42 sniper rifle line, the M995 shares the same massive, rigid receiver footprint and oversized bolt, engineered specifically to handle the extreme pressures of long-range magnum cartridges. The result is a rifle that is both exceptionally strong and unexpectedly smooth, capable of delivering outstanding accuracy with the heavy, high-BC projectiles that make the .338 Lapua one of the premier extended-range rounds in the world.
This example presents in Excellent condition, retaining roughly 99% of its original bluing with crisp markings and only the faintest evidence of handling. The 24″ barrel, with its clean crown and mirror-bright 10/10 bore, shows virtually no signs of wear, reinforcing the impression that this rifle has seen minimal use. The black synthetic stock is equally clean, retaining sharp edges and tight inletting with no chips, cracks, or warping. True to the TRG-S pattern, the receiver is factory grooved for Sako-style ringmounts rather than drilled and tapped, offering a secure and precise optic mounting interface.
The included factory 3-round Sako magazine, a highly desirable component in its own right, is in Excellent condition and the rifle comes in its original serial-numbered box with sling rings. Mechanically, the rifle cycles with the characteristic TRG-S smoothness, and the trigger breaks cleanly and consistently.
Powerful, elegant, and built to withstand the demands of extreme-range shooting, the Sako M995 TRG-S in .338 Lapua Magnum is both a highly capable hunting and long range platform and a collectible piece of Finnish precision engineering.
