Type of Finish: Nickel

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered minor scuffs, most notable on the butt. Otherwise, there is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup has barely perceptible play on each chamber. The trigger pull is crisp. This revolver has a fixed cylinder bushing but has a “black powder” frame, with the cylinder pin retained by a screw, rather than a sprung cross-bar. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: Produced in 1986, this is a beautifully engraved Colt Frontier Six Shooter, the same as their iconic Single Action Army, but chambered for Winchester’s popular .44-40 cartridge. It is interesting in that it is a 3rd Generation revolver with a mix of features, having a fixed cylinder bushing paired with a “black powder” frame. Its gorgeous metal finish and factory engraving are set off by its factory deluxe carved and checkered walnut grips. The revolver is in Excellent condition and presents well. This is a great firearm to add to any collection in America. Please see our photos and good luck!

Please forgive any typos, I was educated in California. -Bud
