Markings: Left side of the receiver is marked “FNH USA FREDERICKSBURG VA” and “FN HERSTAL BELGIUM SCAR 16S cal. 5.56×45 LC24555”.
Barrel Length: 16.25”, 18.25 with the Surefire 3 tine suppressor mount flash hider.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a flip up hooded post and the rear sight is an adjustable L-type flip up aperture. The upper has a 15” picatinny rail for the mounting of optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a synthetic adjustable folding buttstock with an adjustable cheek rest and rubber buttpad. The pistol grip is a Magpul A2 style pistol grip. The LOP measures 14.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the fully extended buttstock. The forend is an aftermarket Kinetic MREX M-lok forend with 2 Kinect picatinny rail sections and one Knight’s m-lok picatinny rail sections mounted to it. Overall the furniture set is in Very Good+ to Excellent condition showing only minor handling marks and some minor marks from the Kinect rails.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. The feed ramps are smooth and shiny. There is no erosion in the bore. The muzzle device is clean. If this rifle has been fired outside of factory testing it was very little. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: The rifle is in Excellent Overall condition showing only minor signs of handling with no notable marks or marrs.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This rifle has a bullet button magazine release and a reciprocating charging handle. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes one 10 round magpul magazine, a parts kit to convert the rifle to have the original magazine release, cable lock with keys, paperwork, the serialized box, and a Surefire remote switch operated weapon light with vertical foregrip that has both white light and IR functions. The light functions correctly and is in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: The FN SCAR 16S is a modern, modular battle rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 16.25″ cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel, known for its exceptional reliability and lightweight monolithic upper design. This particular setup includes a Geissele SCAR trigger, offering a much-improved, crisp pull over the stock unit, enhancing both accuracy and shooter control. The rifle is fitted with a SureFire three-prong flash hider, which significantly reduces muzzle flash and serves as a mount for SureFire suppressors. The charging handle is the original reciprocating type, allowing positive manual control of the bolt, though it does require careful handling under certain sling or barricade conditions.
To comply with restrictive regulations, the rifle uses a bullet button magazine release, which requires a tool for magazine changes. The rifle also includes a SureFire dual-mode weapon light that offers both visible white light and infrared illumination for use with night vision gear, giving this SCAR a serious low-light tactical edge.
