Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “9×19”, has the FN logo and “509”. The left and right sides of the grip have the “FN” logo. The bottom of the frame features the serial number “GKS0048822”. The top of the barrel is marked “9×19”. The right side of the frame is marked “FN COLUMBIA, SC USA”.
Barrel Length: 4.3”. The barrel is threaded, but the thread protector has been pinned and welded in place, permanently attaching it to the barrel and preventing the use of the threads. Note: this will prevent complete removal of the barrel from the slide.
Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade with a tritium sight dovetailed to the front of the slide. There is a Leupold Delta Point-Pro red dot sight screwed to the top of the slide (the slide is configured to take FN Low Profile Optics Mounting System, LPMOS). The sight’s red dot is sharp and the glass is clear. The red dot sight has some minor handling wear but lacks any notable defects. Overall, the red dot sight is in Fine plus condition. The rear sight is a serrated square notch dovetailed to the back end of the slide with two tritium dots. The tritium dots all light up in the dark.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip is flat dark earth textured polymer featuring checkered front and back straps. The back-strap is interchangable with an additional insert included. There are some light handling marks but the grip lacks any notable defects. There are no cracks or chips. Overall, the grip is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and rifling is well defined. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. The slide has some small scuffs, nicks and handling marks. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are serviceable. Overall, the pistol is in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit is snug. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: The pistol comes with a soft FN Case, flashlight, spare backstrap, alternative LPMOS top for the slide which is flat (which can be installed in lieu of the red dot sight), padlock, paperwork which includes the user manual and a total of 4 magazines. The case has some light handling wear but it remains in Fine condition. The flashlight is a Olight PL-2 Valkyrie which can be slid onto the Picatinny rail. The flashlight currently does not have batteries installed. The flashlight has some minor handling marks but remains in Fine condition. Two of the magazines have 24-round capacities, one has a 16-round capacity and one has a 10-round capacity. All the magazines have standard markings and only minor wear. Overall, all the magazines are in Fine condition. Please note, no magazines will be included for purchasers who reside where they cannot be legally transferred.
Our Assessment: This FN 509 is a striker-fired semi-automatic pistol fed by detachable magazines. The pistol is a prime example of the quality handguns that FN has manufactured over the past few decades, It has a practical yet aesthetically pleasing finish and mechanically sound. A variant of the pistol was recently selected by the LAPD as its new duty pistol and it will likely gain a legacy of operational excellence like the highly praised Five-seveN. This example originally had a threaded barrel, but its thread protector has been pinned and welded in place to make it compliant with State restrictions on threaded barrel pistols.
