Barrel Length: 20”.The top of the barrel has a stamp similar to the Zbrojovka Brno logo.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade fixed to a serrated ramped base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a dual u-notch sight dovetailed to a base fixed to the barrel. The top tang is drilled, tapped, and filled for a tang sight (none present).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered wood with a capped pistol grip, straight comb with shadowline cheek piece, wood buttplate, and checkered pump grip. The grip cap is marked “JRN” likely the initials of the engraver. There are scattered handling marks throughout. There are no cracks. There is a chip in the left side of the pump grip that has removed some of the checkering . There is a small crack on the left side of the buttstock at the buttplate near the toe. The LOP measures 12 ½” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the buttplate. Overall, the stocks rate in Fair – Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some minor erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 7.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its new finish. The balance of the finish is strong and complete throughout. There is faint operational wear post refinish. There is minor erosion under the finish on the barrel and tangs. The markings are clear. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition as refinished.
Mechanics: The hammer holds at half cock but still breaks with a light trigger pull. Otherwise, the action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 06 is one of the most recognizable and enduring American rimfire pump rifles of the early twentieth century, bridging the design lineage between the Model 1890 and the later Model 62. Produced during a period when Winchester dominated the rimfire market, the Model 06 offered reliable pump-action operation and broad cartridge compatibility in a compact, well-balanced platform. Manufactured in 1929, this example dates from the height of the model’s popularity, when these rifles were widely used for small-game hunting, farm use, and informal target shooting across the country.
Chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle, the Model 06 reflects the versatility that made the .22 rimfire family indispensable in American shooting culture. This rifle has been custom engraved and refinished, giving it a distinct visual character beyond standard factory configuration, further emphasized by the engraved initials on the grip cap. The bright bore, sharp rifling, and strong post-refinish appearance support its presentation as a well-preserved and visually striking example. While exhibiting honest wear consistent with age and customization, it remains an evocative blend of classic Winchester craftsmanship and personalized embellishment from the interwar period.
