Markings: The top of the toggle is marked “DWM” The front of the frame is marked “1814m” The bottom of the barrel is marked “1814m” The right side of the receiver is marked with a Nitro Proof. All other markings were lost in the refinishing process.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed to a serrated ramped base. The rear sight is a “V”-notch integral to the rear of the toggle.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered wood panels. The checkering is defined. There are some light handling marks present. There are no chips or cracks. The grips are not original to the pistol. These grips rate in Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Blued
Finish Originality: Refinished
Bore Condition: The bore is semi bright, the rifling is defined. There is some erosion and pitting present. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 90% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling and operational wear. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are clean. The markings are sharp. Overall, this pistol rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The DWM Luger P.08 is one of the most iconic pistols of the 20th century. This example, made sometime between the 1920s and early 1940s, represents a transitional or commercial variation possibly reworked for police or export contracts. With matching numbers and strong finish, this is an attractive Luger for collectors of interwar European sidearms.
