Sights/Optics: The front sight is a vent-hooded blade that is pinned to a serrated ramp base which is fixed to the barrel, and is adjustable for elevation. The rear sight is a tangent sight with a square notch leaf that graduates from 25 to 300. The top of the receiver has a rib with rings holding a Tasco 6-24x scope with Mil-Dot reticle.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The stock is one-piece beechwood with a checkered pistol grip, roman-nosed comb with cheek piece, sling swivels on the buttstock and forend and textured black rubber CZ recoil pad. There is a small cluster of nicks behind the rear sling swivel. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad. The pad has minor wear. Overall, the stock is in Fine-Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Blued & Matte Blue
Finish Originality: Original, the bolt is serial-matching. The trigger has been replaced with a Rifle Basix adjustable trigger, the original trigger is included.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: The rifle comes with its warranty book, serial-matching test target, original trigger in the Rifle Basix packaging, strap-on cheek pad, the installed scope and a total of three magazines, one 25-round and two 10-round.
Our Assessment: The CZ 452 also known as BRNO Model Two .22 Rifle is a series of magazine-fed bolt-action rimfire repeating rifles manufactured by the Czech firearms manufacturer Ceská Zbrojovka Uherský Brod and imported into the United States by CZ-USA. Most versions of the 452 rifle series were discontinued in 2011. On display here is a 452-2E ZKM Ultra Lux with a 28.6″ barrel. The Ultra Lux has a checkered beechwood stock and iron sights to go along with its longer barrel. This rifle is in high condition, retaining about 99% of its finish. This rifle does not appear to have seen any use in the field and comes with its serial matching test target. Please see our photos and good luck!
