Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 93% of its current metal finish. There are some scattered light nicks, scuffs and scratches. There is some light finish wear, mostly toward the top-front of the slide. The action shows operational wear. The screw heads have strong sockets. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good-plus condition as refinished and customized.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is crisp. The slide has very little play to the frame. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of four 8-round magazines in a blue velcro pouch. The magazines have minor operational wear, intact feed lips and strong springs. One magazine does not drop free, needing to be pulled out a little bit, then falling free, in about Good-Very Good condition. The other three magazines drop free properly, in Fine-Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: The Colt Gold Cup National Match was intended as an off-the-shelf target pistol, but nothing has ever stopped 1911 fans from customizing a gun. This example has had quite a bit of work done to it. Modifications include a new bushing, forward slide serrations, slide cut for the installed Bo-Mar sight, extended slide stop and thumb safety, extended beavertail grip safety, checkered frontstrap, checkered arched mainspring housing with beveled magazine well, skeletonized hammer and trigger, and de-horned corners. The pistol retains a great bore and strong mechanics. This custom 1911 ought to make a great shooter and comes with four magazines to get you started. Please see our photos and good luck!
