Markings: The left side of the shank is marked “USE ONLY / 7mm REM MAG”. The left side of the chamber ring is marked “MARK V / U.S. PATENT NO. 3,013,355”. The left side of the receiver is marked “Weatherby / ATASCADERO, CA” and “MADE IN U.S.A.” at the rear. The right side of the chamber ring is marked with the serial number “SS007700”. The trigger guard is marked with the Weatherby “W”. The top of the shank, both sides of the receiver, both sides of the Weatherby two-piece rail and rings, and the bottom metal contain Angelo Bee decorative scroll engraving and the center of the floor plate contains an engraved gold Buck head with scroll engraving around it.

Barrel Length: 23”, 24 1/2” to the end of the flash guard.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. Equipped to the top of the receiver via a two-piece Weatherby rail and two rings is a Swarovski Optik Habicht with 3-9x magnification and a duplex reticle. The optic shows a few minor nicks and scuffs. The lenses are clear. The Scope rates in about Fine condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is gray one-piece synthetic black spider web accents. The stock sports a pistol grip, raised monte carlo comb with a cheek piece, and a black Pachmayr Decelerator buttpad. There is a sling stud in the belly and forend. The stock shows no significant wear, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad, which shows little if any wear. Overall, the stock rates in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows scattered light marks on the barrel and flash guard. The bottom metal and the action show light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is light and crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the previously mentioned scope. Also included is a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Angelo Bee.

Our Assessment: This is a beautiful custom Angelo Bee engraved Weatherby Mark V. Angelo Bee is known for his unparalleled craftsmanship and the detail in this engraving proves that point. On top of that, the rifle is equipped with a Swarovski Optik scope in about Fine condition. The grey all weather stock and stainless finish not only catches the eye, but it makes for a practical hunting rifle as well, with a bright, solid bore and crisp trigger. Included is a signed Certificate of Authenticity from Angelo Bee. Of note, the Certificate’s number, 700, matches up nicely with this rifle’s serial number of SS007700. Per the consignor, this is also one of few stainless steel firearms engraved by Angelo Bee, and due to the hardness of Weatherby’s stainless steel, it is also the one which convinced Angelo to stop offering engraving services for stainless guns.
