Our Assessment: A beautifully executed tribute to the original 1911 as issued in the First World War, this Colt reproduction captures the early service model’s distinctive features: the flat mainspring housing, long trigger, small safety and slide stop, high-polish blue over carbon steel, and the rounded, short-spur grip safety of the pre-A1 pattern. The slide markings, finish tone, and overall silhouette replicate the classic 1911 aesthetic with remarkable fidelity, presenting a pistol that looks and feels like a freshly issued WWI-era sidearm — only with modern Colt machining and metallurgy beneath the finish.
