Our Assessment: The Colt Single Action Army is one of the most iconic revolvers in American history, embodying the legacy of the Old West and remaining a symbol of craftsmanship and tradition. This example, chambered in .44 Special, was manufactured in 1972, making it eligible for C&R transfer. The .44 Special cartridge offers exceptional accuracy and controllability, prized by revolver aficionados and reloaders alike.
This second-generation SAA sports the classic 5 1/2” barrel and the original factory finish—showcasing vibrant case colors and deep Colt bluing. The revolver appears to have seen very little use, with crisp markings, excellent grips, and a bore that remains in near-mint condition.
