Our Assessment:
The Colt Single Action Army is one of the most iconic revolvers ever made, and this 3rd Generation example chambered in .45 Colt is a classic representation of the model. Produced in the mid-1970s, this revolver shows off Colt’s traditional craftsmanship with vibrant case colors and a high-polish blue finish. The 5 1/2” barrel length is one of the most practical configurations, equally suited for the field or the range.

The stag grips, while not original, give the revolver a rugged frontier look that complements its design. The bore is excellent, rating 9.5/10 with only the slightest frosting, making it a fine shooter in addition to its collectible status. The presence of factory proof marks and inspector stamps, including the VP and “K” on the trigger guard bow, confirm its authenticity as a Colt factory piece.

For collectors, 3rd Generation Single Action Armies offer an opportunity to own a real Colt SAA in excellent condition without the prohibitive price tag of earlier generations. With its desirable caliber, condition, and holster, this revolver will make a great addition to any Colt collection or serve as a capable shooter for those who appreciate the heritage of the Old West. So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to take a look at the condition of the item in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid.
