Our Assessment: This Colt Python presents in Very Good Plus overall condition and is an attractive example for a 1975 production piece. It retains approximately 97% of its original blue finish with only light handling and holster wear concentrated on the barrel and some minor thinning consistent with use; the cylinder shows a turn line. The checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions are in Very Good condition with light scuffs, a few worn/checking peaks, and no cracks. The bore is very good — bright with sharp rifling and no erosion (writer’s opinion 9.5/10). Markings are clear and screw heads remain sharp.
The action functions correctly in both single and double action, and cylinder lockup shows minimal play. As with all used firearms, we recommend a thorough cleaning. Overall, this Python is a solid, well-preserved example that should require only routine maintenance to be range-ready. Please see our photos and good luck with your bid! -N.P
