Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger has a crisp and clean break in both double and single action. We did not fire this revolver, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards. The action is smooth and the lockup is very tight.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This revolver comes with its original box.
Our Assessment: This 1941 Colt Officers Model chambered in .32 Colt is a prime example of the elegance and craftsmanship that defined Colt’s pre-war revolvers. Built on Colt’s famed “E” frame and intended for target shooting, the Officers Model was widely respected for its superb accuracy, crisp trigger, and robust construction. The .32 Colt chambering is relatively scarce, making this variant especially desirable among collectors of Colt double-action revolvers.
This example is particularly compelling due to its outstanding condition—retaining about 98% of its original blued finish with only a faint cylinder turn line—and its sharp checkering on the walnut grips. The knurled backstrap, mirror-bright bore, and matching serial numbers underscore this revolver’s originality. Mechanically, it’s tight and smooth, with a clean-breaking trigger in both single and double action. Best of all, it includes its original Colt factory box—a rarity in its own right and a critical component for serious collectors.
Colt discontinued the .32 Colt chambering shortly after WWII, and production of the Officers Model in this configuration dwindled with the post-war shift toward .38 Special and .22 LR target guns. As such, this revolver stands as both a beautifully preserved artifact from Colt’s golden age and a scarce configuration that adds depth to any advanced Colt or pre-war handgun collection.
