Type of Finish: Blue
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is gray with worn, but visible rifling. There is light-moderate erosion scattered through the bore with some moderate pitting toward the muzzle-end.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 25% of its metal finish. Most remaining finish is toward the rear of the slide and the top-rear of the frame. There is a little bit of fire-blue remaining on the extractor and slide stop. The hammer shows just a bit of figuring from its case color, but has mostly muted. The firing pin is bronze. The takedown plug is missing, so we were not able to disassemble this pistol. We were able to confirm that the indexing post on the wedge has sheared off. There is scattered moderate surface erosion and pitting, heaviest in the grip areas and the front half of the slide. The erosion and pitting is generally surrounded by areas scrubbed bright or discolored from oxidation. There are some scattered nicks, scratches and scrapes. The action shows operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots, some show surface oxidation. The markings range from clear to worn and incomplete. There are tool marks around most screw and pin heads. Overall, this pistol is in about Fair condition.
Mechanics: The takedown plug is missing, so we were not able to disassemble this pistol. We were able to confirm that the indexing post on the wedge has sheared off. Otherwise, the action functions correctly. The trigger pull is crisp. The slide shows very little play to the frame. This pistol does not have a safety but does have a half-cock position on the hammer. The magazine release is on the bottom of the butt. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a single 7-round Colt 1905 magazine. The magazine has operational wear, some scrapes and erosion, and the nose of the floorplate is bent down a little bit. There is a crack in the body on the top-front. The feed lips are intact, the spring is strong. Overall, the magazine is in about Fair condition.
