Our Assessment: The Colt MK IV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match is widely recognized as one of the finest factory-produced competition pistols of its time. Designed for bullseye and precision shooters, it features a match-grade barrel, a wider trigger with overtravel adjustment, and target-grade sights.
This 1978 example comes in a factory box and retains sharp markings and a strong blued finish. The Series 70 models are known for their classic internals without the added firing pin safety found in later Series 80 models, making them especially desirable among 1911 purists.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector, a Colt enthusiast, or a precision shooter looking for vintage performance, this Gold Cup National Match is a beautiful and capable addition to any collection or range lineup. Please see our High Quality photos and good luck on your bids.-C.M.
