Sights / Optics: The pistol is equipped with Novak 3-dot night sights. The rear sight is dovetailed to the slide and the front sight is a tritium insert blade set into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are Desert Camouflage G10 composite panels with aggressive texturing for superior retention. There are no chips, cracks, or notable wear. The grips rate in Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its original finish. There is only minor operational wear visible, primarily on the barrel hood and slide rails. The slide markings remain sharp, including the “COLT *** USMC” rollmark with the factory-struck “X” indicating decommissioning. The screw heads are sharp and undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The pistol features an extended beavertail grip safety, ambidextrous extended thumb safeties, a flat serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop, long solid aluminum trigger, and under-barrel 1913 accessory rail. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with its original serialized USMC cardboard shipping box with military label indicating “CLOSE QUARTER BATTLE PISTOL (CQBP) SYS FFP” and Part Number “M45A1”. It comes with a 7 round .45 ACP magazine with Wilson Combat baseplate.
Our Assessment: This Colt M45A1 is a rare and highly desirable example of a U.S. Marine Corps-issue Close Quarter Battle Pistol that was returned to Colt and subsequently decommissioned for public sale. Of the 1,000 pistols traded back to Colt (470 used and 530 unused), this example represents one of the genuine Marine-purchased CQBP pistols and includes correct military roll markings with the factory “X” decommissioning strike through the “USMC” stamp.
This pistol is built to demanding military specifications and includes premium features such as a National Match barrel, Novak tritium night sights, extended safeties, and a durable Cerakote finish over a stainless steel frame and slide. It is a serious combat pistol that was purpose-built for Force Recon and other Special Operations elements of the USMC.
