Markings: The left side of the frame is marked “COLT PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” with the serial number “2807663.” The slide is richly decorated with 24-karat gold-plated panels depicting portraits of Elvis Presley, American flags, musical notes, and his signature. The right rear of the slide is engraved “ELVIS AARON PRESLEY 53310761” within a diamond field, while the muzzle band is engraved “189 OF 300” and “A & A ENGRAVING, INC. Rapid City, S.D.” The gold-plated accents include the hammer, safety, slide stop, and magazine release. A brass plaque in the display case reads, “The Elvis® Tribute Pistol Authorized by America Remembers & Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. An Edition of 300.” The Colt factory box end label reads “MODEL 01991Z Custom M1991A1, 5″ Barrel, .45ACP, Matte Blue.”
Sights / Optics: Fixed front blade and rear notch, standard M1991A1 configuration.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The pistol is fitted with checkered walnut grip panels featuring gold escutcheons and grip screws. The grips are in excellent condition with no handling wear.
Type of Finish: Matte blue with gold-plated engraving and accents.
Finish Originality: Original to the America Remembers commemorative production.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore but there is stubborn fouling throughout. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its finish. There are no visible handling marks or signs of use. The gold-plated embellishments are vivid and mirror-bright, and all engravings remain crisp. This example has clearly been preserved as a display piece.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide, safety, and grip safety operate smoothly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
