Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed partridge sight with serrations. The rear sight is a dovetailed square-notch.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips/stock are two piece checkered wood with the Rampant Colt in the center. There are minimal handling marks present. There are no chips or cracks present. The grips fit the frame with no movement. The grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of finish shows minimal wear from handling and storage. The screw heads are sharp with turnable slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action does function correctly. The safety does function correctly. We did not fire this handgun/rifle/shotgun. We have cleaned this firearm and performed a mechanic’s check but expect many will want to clean the firearm again depending on their standards.

Our Assessment: This 1969 Colt Government Model is a prime example of classic American 1911 design, produced at a time when Colt’s commercial models were held in extremely high regard for both fit and finish. This is a pre-Series 70 model, just before the collet bushing and Series 70 enhancements began appearing, and it features the original short trigger, arched mainspring housing, and fixed sights. With its excellent condition, C&R eligibility, and period-correct box, this is an ideal addition for any Colt collector, 1911 enthusiast, or vintage handgun connoisseur.
