Markings: The right of the frame is marked with the serial number. The left of the trigger guard has “8” and a “VP” in triangle, the right has “3”.
Sights / Optics: Each side of the frame has three drilled and tapped holes for an optic mount (none present). Five of the holes have fill screws, the left-front is not filled, but appears to have strong threads.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one-piece checkered rubber Bianchi wraparound grip with finger grooves. The grip has light handling wear. There is some tearing at the bottom finger groove on each side, more notable on the right. The checkering is well defined. Overall, the grip is in Good-plus condition as not original to the gun.

Overall Condition: This handgun frame retains about 90% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at most edges. There are some scattered light nicks, scuffs and scratches. There is handling wear in the mainspring housing. The frame shows operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol frame is in Very Good condition as refinished.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The 1911 is one of the best pistols ever designed, seeing use in the US Military for the better part of a century and dominating pistol shooting sports for decades. This 1968 vintage commercial Government model was converted at some point for competition shooting, drilled and tapped on each side for an optic mount with a beavertail grip safety, beveled magazine well and a nice Bianchi grip.
