Our Assessment:  Colt’s Anaconda debuted in 1990 as the company’s big-bore, stainless “MM-frame” magnum—purpose-built with a vent-rib, full underlug barrel, and fully adjustable sights to compete at the top end of the large-frame revolver market. This 1992 example with the desirable 6″ barrel retains crisp factory markings, its correct pinned orange-insert front sight, and Colt medallion overmolded stocks, presenting overall as a clean, well-kept snake gun with only light handling marks and a bright, sharp 9/10 bore. The stainless finish shows the even, satin luster collectors expect, and the package is strengthened by the inclusion of the factory case, manual, and handouts.

Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum—a cartridge introduced in 1955 from Elmer Keith’s high-pressure .44 Special experiments—the Anaconda pairs modern Colt stainless construction with a classic powerhouse round renowned for hunting and silhouette work, yet manageable with .44 Special for range sessions. With its 6″ vent-rib barrel, full underlug, and adjustable sights, this revolver delivers the archetypal Anaconda profile from the early 1990s production era and remains a marquee piece among modern Colt double-actions.
