Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44 Special”, the top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871 / JULY 2, 72 JAN. 19, 75” with the rampant Colt logo, the bottom is marked with the serial number. The left front side of the trigger guard bow is double stamped “VP” in triangle, the rear is marked “K”, the front right side is marked “Z”. The left side of the front and back straps are marked with the serial number. The original factory box reflects the correct serial number, finish, chambering and barrel length of this revolver.
Barrel Length: 5 ½”, Round
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a quarter-round blued blade that is fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flat top, square notch milled into the top of the frame.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black plastic Colt eagle grips that have checkering on the flanks with smooth borders. The grips only exhibit light scuffs, the checkers are sharp and the panels rate in about Excellent condition..

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The cylinder does not even have a visible drag line. This revolver looks to have been shot seldom, if at all (outside of factory testing) and was well taken care of in the interim. The metal surfaces have instances of jagged, shallow scuff marks and scratches as photographed. This wear looks to have been accumulated by handling and storage. The screw heads are sharp with faint hints at light screwdriver use in the slots. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: Given the condition of this revolver, we did not inspect the mechanics; there is no visible drag line on the cylinder, this revolver looks to have been handled more than it was shot and was well taken care of in the interim. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the revolver’s original factory box with serialized end label, which also reflects the finish, serial number, barrel length and model “P1756”. The box has scuff and wear marks from storage and handling; some of the corners are ruffled. Also included are both pieces of the factory foam insert, the original plastic bag and paperwork that has note even been taken out of its original packaging; the red securing tape has not been tampered with.
Our Assessment: This is Excellent condition revolver has about 99% of its finish remaining, the balance from scuffs, scratches and minor handling marks. The bore is bright and sharp, the cylinder does not have a visible drag line and the grips only have faint scuffs.
