Markings: The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”. The left of the barrel is marked “1871 NRA Centennial 1971” filled with gold coloring. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871 / JULY 2,72 JAN. 19,75” and with the rampant colt logo. The underside of the frame at the grip frame, the left side of the upper and lower grip frame straps (under the left grip) are marked “NRA2031”. The inside rear face of the loading gate is marked with the assembly number “394”, found again on the right rear of the frame. The front face of the cylinder is marked “031”, the rear face has a rampant colt. The left front of the trigger guard is marked with a “VP”, the left rear “V” and the right is marked “P”. The inside of each grip panel is marked with “2031” in black marker.
Barrel Length: 5 1/2″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a quarter-circle blade. The rear sight is a square groove in the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth walnut panels with gold NRA medallions at their tops. The grips have a few scattered light nicks and scratches, most notable is a patch of marks on the bottom-front of the right panel. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered minor nicks and scuffs with a small patch of minor oxidation on the right of the frame at the bottom-front. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup is tight with only barely perceptible play on each chamber. The cylinder has a removable bushing. The trigger pull is crisp. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a locking wood presentation case (key included) with yellow velvet interior and a cardboard carton for the case. The lid has a clear square in the center with an NRA centennial medallion mounted in it and a Colt medallion at the right-front. The case has minor storage wear with a few light marks on the exterior and light wear on the interior from the contents.
Our Assessment: Produced in 1971 to commemorate 100 years of the National Rifle Association, this is a beautiful 2nd Generation Single Action Army with presentation case and special NRA medallion grips. This is a wonderful tribute to our nation’s leading firearms organization from one of our nation’s leading firearms manufacturers. The revolver is in Fine-plus condition and presents well in its nice case. This is a great firearm to add to any collection in America. Please see our photos and good luck!
