There is thinning at the muzzle and the leading edges of the cylinder.  There is limited operational and storage wear.  There are carbon rings on the cylinder.  The case color is strong. The screw heads are sharp.  The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Very Good condition.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None

Our Assessment: The Colt Single Action Army stands as one of the most recognizable and influential revolvers ever produced, a design that defined American handgunning from the late nineteenth century forward. The Second Generation Colts, produced beginning in the mid 1950s, are widely respected for blending traditional craftsmanship with postwar manufacturing consistency. These revolvers carry the classic lines, balance, and handling that made the SAA legendary, while remaining true Colts built in Hartford and finished to a high standard.

This example was produced in 1971 as part of Colt’s NRA Commemorative series, marking the 100th anniversary of the National Rifle Association. Chambered in .357 Magnum with a 5 1/2 inch barrel, it represents one of the most popular and practical configurations of the Single Action Army. While originally shipped with special commemorative wood grips bearing gold NRA medallions, this revolver has been customized with period style Eagle hard rubber grips and a Bullseye ejector head, giving it a more utilitarian and personalized appearance while retaining its commemorative roots.

Condition remains very solid, with approximately 90 percent of the original blue and case-colored finish present, strong case colors, sharp screws, and clear, legible markings throughout. The bore is bright with crisp rifling, and the revolver presents as a well cared for Colt that balances historical significance with honest signs of use. This is a compelling example of a Second Generation Single Action Army that bridges collector interest and classic Colt appeal.
