Markings: The top of the barrel is marked with the Colt-style one-line address. The backstrap is engraved “Bob Younger”, referencing the notorious member of the James-Younger Gang. Serial number “215696” is present on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. The gun bears appropriate period-style markings consistent with an Open Top model built by Kenny Howell and R&D Gun Shop, known for their historically accurate and museum-quality restorations.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blued fin, dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a V-notch integral to the frame.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are genuine ivory, finely fitted with attractive age toning. They show natural grain and slight shrinkage common to real ivory but no cracks or damage. The grips rate in Excellent condition and enhance the revolver’s aesthetic and collector appeal.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no visible erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver is in Excellent condition as restored. The frame displays vivid case coloring, while the barrel, cylinder, and ejector rod housing retain deep blued finish. Screw heads are clean, and all engraving is sharp and professionally executed. The mechanics are sound with no signs of abuse or improper fitting.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer locks back firmly, the cylinder times properly, and the loading gate and ejector rod operate smoothly. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Provenance Note: This revolver is purported to have been given to or owned by actor Bobby Carradine, famed for his portrayal of outlaw Bob Younger in the 1980 film The Long Riders.
