Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “Cimmaron FA Fredricksburg, Texas / Armi Sport, Italy. Cal 56/50 Spencer”. The side of the barrel and top of the receiver are marked with the serial number.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade soldered to a base by the muzzle. The rear sight is a ladder sight which presents a “V”-notch in the down position. When raised the ladder presents an integral “V’-notch at the top and a “V”-notch slider (the slider slides freely). The ladder is marked 2-8, inclusive.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The stocks are two-piece wood featuring a forend that is secured by a barrel band with a spring and screw, a saddle ring fixed to a sling bar on the left side of the wrist, a straight comb and a metal butt-plate with a provision for the installed tubular magazine. The stocks have minor handling marks, nicks and scuffs. There are no cracks or chips. The LOP is 13” from the trigger to the rear of the butt-plate. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There are a few patches of light pitting and some erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: The rifle retains 98% of its metal finish. There are light handling marks, nicks and scuffs. The screwheads are sharp. Overall, the rifle is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The half cock engages. The action functions correctly. We have not fired this carbine. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Spencer carbine is one of the most iconic American military firearms of the Civil War era, representing a major leap forward in repeating small arms technology. Originally adopted in the early 1860s, the Spencer’s lever actuated, butt fed tubular magazine gave Union cavalry a decisive advantage in firepower and reload speed over single shot muzzleloaders. Cimarron’s modern reproduction, manufactured by Armi Sport, faithfully recreates the profile, handling, and mechanical layout of the original 1860 Spencer while allowing shooters to experience this historic design with modern metallurgy and manufacturing consistency.
This example was manufactured in 2019 and is chambered in .56-50 Spencer with a 20 inch barrel. It retains approximately 98 percent of its original blue and case colored metal finish, showing only light handling marks, small nicks, and scuffs consistent with limited use. Markings on the barrel and receiver are clear and correct, identifying Cimarron Firearms and Armi Sport manufacture. The two piece wood stock set features a barrel band retained forend, saddle ring with sling bar on the left side of the wrist, straight comb, and metal buttplate housing the tubular magazine. The wood shows minor handling marks but no cracks or chips, presenting in very good overall condition with a 13 inch length of pull.
The bore is bright with sharp rifling, showing a few light patches of pitting and some erosion, rating 8 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. Mechanically, the action functions correctly, with the half cock engaging properly and the lever operating smoothly. The ladder rear sight is complete and functional, marked from 2 through 8, with a freely sliding elevation notch. Overall, this Cimarron Spencer carbine presents as a very well preserved modern reproduction of a landmark American repeating rifle, offering strong historical presence and excellent overall condition.
