Markings: The left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo, “COLT®”, “M4 CARBINE / CAL. .22 L.R.”, the serial number “BP004871” and “COLT’S MFG. CO. INC. / HARTFORD. CONN. / -U.S.A.-”. The bolt is serial matched and has German proof marks which includes the date code “AK”. The left side of the frame is marked “US IMPORTER / UMAREX USA / FORT SMITH/AR” and “LICENSED TRADEMARK OF / NEW COLT HOLDING CORP. / MADE BY CARL WALTHER / GERMANY”. The bottom of the trigger guard has a safety disclaimer.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post fixed to a raised base and set between two “ears” which are integral to the base. The rear sight is a folding aperture with a wide and narrow reticle which is adjustable for windage and elevation. The rear sight is fixed to the carrying handle.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The stocks are three piece black synthetic featuring a ventilated handguard, checkered pistol grip with finger grooves and a retractable butt-stock with checkered end. The stocks have light handling marks but they lack any notable defects. The LOP is 10 3/4” when the butt is retracted and 14” when it is extended. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering remains sharp. Overall, the stocks are in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: The rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some light handling marks on the gun’s metal surfaces but it lacks any noteworthy defects. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are unmarred and serviceable. Overall, the rifle is in Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: The rifle comes with a total of four 30-round magazines and a soft black fabric carrying case. Three of the magazines have some light handling marks and remain in Very Good-Fine condition, while the fourth magazine is still sealed in its original packaging. Please note, no magazines will be included for purchasers who reside where they cannot be legally transferred. The case has some light handling marks and remains in Fine condition.
Our Assessment: This Carl Walther GmbH manufactured M4 Carbine is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for .22 LR rounds which was made under license with Colt. The rifle is based on the US military’s M4 carbine which remains in service today. The M4 was initially manufactured under contract by Colt for the US military until the end of 2011, and the company maintained that it retained sole rights over the term “M4”. Despite this, in 2005 a court ruled that the term “M4” was henceforth generic and that Colt’s trademark should be revoked. This is a well made plinker that remains mechanically sound. The rifle ought to prove itself a worthy companion when plinking away at the range. Good luck on your bid!
