36 GA: Threaded. None installed. Included are 2x Skeet, 1x Cylinder, 3x Improved Modified, 1x Full, 1x Improved Cylinder, and 1x Modified.
Sights / Optics: Each barrel set has a white bead in a base at the front of the ventilated rib and a smaller brass mid-bead. The tops of the ribs are checkered for glare reduction.
Weight: with 28 GA barrel installed: 7 lb., 3 oz.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are beautiful checkered Turkish walnut with schnabel tip forends, prince of wales pistol grip, straight comb, and black KICK-EEZ buttpad. There are a few light handling marks. THere is some minor discoloration on the 20GA forend. There is a blister in the finish on the left side of the 28GA forend along with a small crack in the bottom of the schnabel tip next to a very small chip. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks in the buttstock. . The LOP is 15″ from the front of the trigger to the rear of the pad. The pad has some scattered wear, mostly at the heel and toe. The drop at comb is 1 1/4″ and the drop at heel is 1 3/4″, the drops are consistent across the three barrel sets. Right handed cast. Overall, the stocks rate in about Very Good to Fine condition.

Bore Condition: All of the bores are bright with no fouling. There is minor plastic fouling in the top 20GA barrel. The 28 GA barrels are spotless. The 36 GA set has minor plastic fouling in the bottom barrel. In this writer’s opinion the bores each rate 10/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun set retains about 99% of its metal finish. On the 36 GA set, there is a small mark on the left side in between the barrels at the muzzle. Other than this, the sets are pristine throughout with strong and complete finish throughout. There are little to no operational wear. Most of the minor wear is held in the stocks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this shotgun set rates in Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun has an upper tang mounted safety & barrel selector, it does not set automatically but functions correctly when manually set. All barrel sets lock up to the receiver with no play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a Americase Ultralight case, two 20 GA snapcaps, all chokes as mentioned above, three certificates, and a warranty card.
Our Assessment: The Maxum Sporting is truly a stunning over/under shotgun. The deep relief gothic scroll hand finished engraving on the receiver, side plates, and fore-end assembly make this sporting gun unique among others on the clays course. The handwork and design are from the studios of the world renowned Italian engraving house, Bottega Incisioni C. Giovanelli. The coin finish frame is painstakingly hand polished. Balancing the beauty of the deeply sculpted engraving is a deluxe grade of Turkish walnut, featuring precision cut 26 lines-per-inch checkering and a natural oil finish, hand rubbed to a sheen that enhances the highly figured wood grain. The Maxum Sporting is available in 12 gauge as a standard offering; 12 gauge models feature the Maxis Bore/Choke System and are offered in barrels up to 34” for the serious competitor. 20, 28 and combination two-barrel sets in 20/28 gauge and three barrel sets in 20/28/410 are also available .
This is a 20/28/410 three-barrel set and is a great sporting setup that can tackle any obstacle at the range. The engraving and stocks are world class, a true piece of art. With a wide variety of chokes included and appearing to have seen some responsible use, this is a great sub-gauge set that is ready to drop some flesh or clay birds.
