Our Assessment: This 2021 B&T GHM9-C pistol is a compact, Swiss-manufactured 9mm platform built around Brügger & Thomet’s modern hydraulic-assisted blowback system. Designed and produced in Thun, Switzerland, the GHM9 series blends precision machining with modularity and compact dimensions. The “C” configuration features a short 4.3 inch barrel and compact receiver profile, delivering a highly maneuverable format while maintaining the robust construction and clean industrial lines for which B&T is known. The Swiss cross and B&T markings clearly identify its heritage and manufacturer. Chambered in 9mm Luger, the GHM9-C utilizes one of the most widely adopted cartridges in the world, valued for controllable recoil and consistent ballistic performance. The hydraulic buffer system is engineered to moderate felt recoil and improve shooting characteristics compared to traditional straight blowback designs. The threaded 1/2×28 barrel provides compatibility with common muzzle devices within legal parameters. The integrated Picatinny top rail with folding B&T backup iron sights allows immediate use with irons or the addition of optics, while the forend rail sections support accessory mounting. The translucent 30-round B&T magazine complements the pistol’s modern configuration.
Conditionally, this example presents in excellent overall shape, retaining approximately 99 percent of its original anodized and polymer finish with only light handling marks visible. The bore remains bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, rating 9.5 out of 10 with faint fouling present. The polymer trigger housing and furniture show no structural concerns, and the markings remain clear and crisp. Included are the original hard case, magazine loading tool, and factory magazine. Taken together, this B&T GHM9-C offers a well-preserved example of a contemporary Swiss-engineered compact 9mm pistol with advanced recoil mitigation and modular capability. -R.E.
