Markings: The serial number is on the right of the frame and the left shoulder of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH MADE IN JAPAN/MIROKU”. The right shoulder of the barrel is marked “BL-22 CALIBER .22 SHORT, LONG & LONG RIFLE PATENT NO. 3377731”. There is Grade 2 engraving on the sides of the receiver and on the lever.
Barrel Length: 24″
Sights / Optics: The front sight has been removed, leaving an empty dovetail. The rear sight has also been removed and is filled by a blank dovetail. The top of the receiver is equipped with a fully adjustable Skinner peep sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered wood with a banded forearm, straight grip & comb, and a Browning hard rubber buttplate. The wood shows no notable imperfections and the checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the Browning plate, which shows hardly any notable wear. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are infrequently scattered faint handling marks. There is faint operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This box comes in its original serial matching box with paperwork including a manual, the original rear sight, and a safety lock.
Our Assessment: As Browning says . . . “The BL-22 is perfect for both new and seasoned shooters. Newbies will appreciate features like confidence-building accuracy, a short 33° lever throw for fast cycling and a trigger that travels with the lever to prevent finger pinch. Experienced types will love the easy handling, lightweight, and quality construction. Whatever the reason, a BL-22 is a must have for every gun collection.” Whether a true Buckaroo class Cowboy Shooter or just a buckaroo at heart, these are some of the best .22 LR rifles ever made.
