Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus condition.

Our Assessment: The Browning BLR Lightweight is a modern lever action rifle developed to combine traditional lever operation with the ability to handle high-pressure, modern sporting cartridges. Manufactured by Miroku in Japan for Browning, the BLR departs from earlier tubular magazine lever guns by using a rotating bolt and detachable box magazine, allowing the use of pointed bullets and short magnum cartridges. By the late 2000s, the Lightweight variant represented a refined evolution of the BLR platform, emphasizing reduced weight and compact handling while retaining strength and versatility. Chambering in .270 Winchester Short Magnum places this rifle firmly within Browning’s contemporary sporting lineup of the period.

This example is configured with a 20 inch barrel, brass beaded front sight, adjustable U notch rear sight, and a detachable four-round factory magazine, finished in original blue and stocked in gloss-finished checkered walnut. The rifle retains approximately 98 percent of its original metal finish, with light handling wear, minor superficial marks, faint edge thinning on the receiver, and a small spot of surface rust noted on the barrel. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, showing faint erosion and residual fouling near the chamber, rating 6 out of 10, while the stocks show scratches and compression marks but remain structurally sound and rate Fine overall. The action functions correctly and the rifle includes its factory box, paperwork, and magazine. Please see our photos for a better understanding of condition and good luck with your bids! -N.P
