Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN” and “NP” at the rear. The right side of the barrel is marked “PAT. 4723369 A-BOLT CAL. .223 REM/5.56 MM ONLY”. The right rear shoulder of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The left shoulder of the receiver is marked “MEDALLION” in a banner. The shoulders of the receiver and the magazine floorplate are scroll engraved. The underside of the trigger guard is engraved with a gold filled Buckmark logo.

Barrel Length: 22”

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. Equipped to the top of the receiver via a two-piece Browning rail and two rings is a Leopold Vari-X II with 3-9x magnification and a duplex reticle. There is some residue at the front and rear from the lens cover. The lenses are a touch cloudy but there is plenty of visibility. Overall, the scope rates in about Very Good condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is checkered walnut with a high gloss finish, rosewood nose and grip caps, straight comb, sling swivels in the forend and belly and a solid black rubber press checkered Browning buttpad. There is a minor scrape and compression on the left side of the forearm. There are a few other minor light marks on the butstock. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is sharp. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad which has only faint wear. The stock rates in about Fine-Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are only very light handling marks and very light operational wear. There are some faint marks on the bottom metal. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. This rifle rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the installed scope as described, three 5-round and one 4-round detachable magazines, and a serial matching box with paperwork including a manual.

Our Assessment: This is a very nice looking Browning A-Bolt Medallion bolt action rifle built by Miroku in Japan and chambered in .223 Remington. It features a high gloss finished walnut stock, a high luster blue barrel and scroll engraving on the shoulders of the receiver and the magazine floorplate. The stock has a high gloss finish with rosewood tipped forend and a rosewood grip cap. It was made without iron sights but has a Leupold scope mounted on the receiver. The rifle is in Excellent condition with about 98% of its original finish remaining and some faint wear in the stock. This rifle looks to have spent more time in storage than out with little evidence of use. Please see our photos and good luck!
