Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH MADE IN JAPAN/MIROKU”, along with an “NP” proof mark. The right side of the barrel is marked with a patent number and “A-BOLT CAL. .300 WIN MAG ONLY”. The left side of the receiver is marked “MEDALLION”. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The right and left sides of the receiver, along with the floorplate are factory engraved with floral scroll engraving.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece, checkered, gloss finished walnut stock, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, rubber Browning buttpad, a tipped forend, and sling rings front and rear. The LOP measures 13 5/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear, with a few light dings and light scratches scattered throughout. The gloss finish is largely intact, and the checkering is well defined. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling and storage wear. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings and engravings are detailed, clear, and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good to Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Browning A-Bolt II Medallion represents one of the most refined iterations of Browning’s modern sporting bolt-action rifles, combining Japanese precision manufacturing with traditional engraving and high-grade presentation. Produced by Miroku for Browning, the A-Bolt II platform is known for its smooth short-throw bolt, strong locking system, and excellent out-of-the-box accuracy. Chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum and fitted with a 26-inch barrel, this rifle reflects the cartridge’s original design intent: high velocity, long-range performance, and authority on large North American game.
This Medallion-grade example presents in Very Good to Fine overall condition, retaining approximately 98 percent of its original blued metal finish. The factory floral scroll engraving on the receiver and floorplate remains crisp and well defined, adding visual depth without distracting from the rifle’s clean lines. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, indicating careful use and proper maintenance. The gloss-finished walnut stock shows only light handling marks, with strong finish, clean checkering, and tight fit to the action, all consistent with a well-kept sporting rifle rather than a hard-used field piece.
Overall, this A-Bolt II Medallion offers an appealing balance of performance, aesthetics, and collectability.
