Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH MADE IN JAPAN/MIROKU”, along with an “NP” proof mark. The right side of the barrel is marked with a patent number and “A-BOLT CAL. .30-06 SPRG ONLY”. The left side of the receiver is marked “MEDALLION”. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The right and left sides of the receiver, along with the floorplate are factory engraved with floral scroll engraving.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece, checkered, gloss finished walnut stock, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, rubber Browning buttpad, a tipped forend, and sling rings front and rear. The LOP measures 13 5/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light handling and storage wear. The stock’s finish is intact throughout, and the checkering is well defined. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Fine to Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling and storage wear, with the most notable imperfection being a small ding on the trigger guard. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings and engravings are detailed, clear, and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a Browning box (not serial number matched), owner’s manual, and lock.
Our Assessment: The Browning A-Bolt II Medallion represents a refined blend of modern bolt-action performance and traditional sporting rifle presentation. Produced in Japan by Miroku for Browning, the A-Bolt II series is widely respected for its smooth short-throw bolt, strong locking system, and consistent accuracy. Chambered in the enduring .30-06 Springfield and fitted with a full-length 26-inch barrel, this rifle reflects the classic American all-around cartridge in a configuration optimized for velocity and versatility.
This Medallion-grade example remains in Fine overall condition, retaining approximately 98 percent of its original blued metal finish. The factory floral scroll engraving on both sides of the receiver and the hinged floorplate is crisp, evenly executed, and clearly legible, lending an understated elegance without overwhelming the rifle’s clean lines. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, indicating limited use and proper care. The gloss-finished walnut stock shows only light handling and storage wear, with intact finish, strong checkering, and a tight, precise fit to the action.
Overall, this A-Bolt II Medallion offers a compelling combination of classic chambering, quality Japanese manufacture, factory engraving, and excellent overall condition.
