Markings: The left side of the upper barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN” The left of the monoblock is marked “09570” and “INVECTOR”. The bottom of the monoblock is marked with “NP SP 2” The right side of the top barrel is marked “SPECIAL STEEL 12GA-2 3/4”- 26””. The inside of the forend iron is marked “09570” and the inside of the forend is stamped “A9570”. The top tang, under the lever, is marked with “09570PW103”. The bottom of the receiver is marked “BROWNING / Citori”. The bottom of the trigger guard has a Buck Mark logo.
Barrel Length: 26” Vent-Rib
Choke: The barrels are threaded for Invector chokes currently installed with Skeet/Skeet.
Sights / Optics: There is a silver bead at the front of the rib. The top of the rib is finely checkered for the purpose of reducing glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece configured checkered walnut . The stock is a straight hand grip, straight comb, with a black plastic Browning butt plate. The forend is a slab side schnabel forend. The length of pull is 14″, the drop at comb 1.6″ and the drop at heel is 2.6″. The shotgun weighs 6lbs 13oz. The wood shows surface level lines, compressions and some scratches scattered throughout. The top rear edges and nose of the forend show some very small chips in the finish. There are no visible cracks. The butt plate shows some surface level scratches in the smooth borders with some rub wear on the edges. There is a notable compression on the left forward side of the stock next to the tang lever. Overall the wood is in about Good+ condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bores are mirror bright with no erosion or pitting. The bores show lines from use and some plastic fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9/10.
Overall Condition: The shotgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The barrel set shows scattered lights marks and rub wear from the forend that is concealed when assembled. The tang lever has turned plum. There is rub wear with surface rust forming under the safety. The gold trigger shows finish loss. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. Overall the shotgun is in Good+-Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun features a single selective trigger and ejectors. The barrels lock up solidly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Browning Citori Hunter Grade I is a classic over-under that embodies the durability and field practicality the Citori line is known for. This 1984 example is chambered in 12 gauge and fitted with 26″ barrels threaded for Invector chokes, offering excellent versatility for upland hunting and general sporting use. Weighing just 6lbs 13oz, it is notably light for a 12-gauge Citori, giving it quick handling and a lively feel in the hands.
Configured with a schnabel forend and a straight hand stock, this Hunter Grade I closely mirrors the highly regarded Citori Upland Special, differing primarily in its longer 26″ barrels rather than the 24″ of the Upland model. The result is a shotgun that maintains fast handling while providing a slightly smoother swing and longer sighting plane more suited for sporting use.
