The stock has some light nicks and scratches, mostly on the left below the receiver and on the right toward the rear. There is a tiny loss along the right edge of the receiver at the rear. There are no cracks. The checkering is well defined. The LOP measures 14 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad respectively. The pad shows some light rub wear and remains supple. The stock rates in Very Good-Plus overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original, the bolt is serial-matching. The Bauska import mark is through the finish.

Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is very light and crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: Pre-war Ceskoslovenská zbrojovka and post-war Zbrojovka Brno, was a maker of small arms, light artillery, and motor vehicles in Brno, Czechoslovakia. The company was founded in 1918 as a state-owned factory known as the State Armament and Engineering Works. The factory assembled German Gewehr 98 and Austrian Mannlicher M1895 rifles, but later began producing their own. During the German occupation of Czechoslovakia, Zbrojovka Brno produced weapons for the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS. In the 1980s, the company refocused mainly on communication and computing technologies at the expense of weapons production and repair. This model ZKK-602 was manufactured at the outset of that period of reduced arms production, in 1985. It is in Fine condition and chambered in .375 H&H Magnum. This safari rifle has decades of shooting left in it yet it would also sit nicely in a collection of quality Czech bolt action hunting rifles. Please see our photos and good luck!
