Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “.460 S&W MAG SpikeDriver”. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The top tang is marked “BIG HORN ARMORY, INC. / CODY, WY, USA / MODEL 90”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade, dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a Skinner aperture peep sight mounted to the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two-piece Fancy-Grade checkered walnut, with semi-pistol grip, straight comb, black rubber buttpad, metal capped forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 5/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows minimal wear, with only one ding at the top of the wrist on the right side. The checkering is well defined. The wood grain is attractive and the stock’s finish is strong throughout. The stocks fit the frame tightly, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stocks rate in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99%+ of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear. The “Hunter Black” finish is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the half-cock safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Big Horn Armory Model 90 Spike Driver in .460 S&W Magnum is a modern, heavy-hitting lever-action built to deliver hard-hitting big-game performance with classic handling. Chambered for one of the most powerful handgun magnums, this SpikeDriver pairs stout .460 ballistics with a 22? octagonal barrel and a beefy tubular magazine/lever drivetrain to produce a straight-shooting, hard-working rifle ideal for brush country, heavy-duty hunting, and those who want magnum class in a handy lever gun format.
This example is an outstanding cosmetic and mechanical package — the Fancy Grade checkered walnut stocks are attractive and tight to the action, showing only a single small ding at the wrist and otherwise rating Excellent. The Hunter Black metal finish is deep and uniform and the rifle retains roughly 99%+ of its original finish. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 10/10, which bodes very well for accuracy. Sights are: a dovetailed beaded blade up front and a Skinner aperture peep mounted on the slide at the rear — a practical setup for quick, precise aiming in the field. Mechanically the lever action and the half-cock safety functioned correctly in our inspection.
